STILL CATCHIN` A FEW CRAPPIE ON TELLICO UP AROUND BAT CREEK....USUALLY GO OUT IN THE AFTER NOON TIMES AND MANAGE TO GET 1 HERE AND 2 THERE ...3 IS ABOUT THE MOST I CAN GET OUT OF ONE SPOT....JUST WORKIN THE CREEK CHANNEL EDGE DRIFTIN MINNERS OFF THE TOP OF THE BRUSH....22-24 FOOT OF WATER WITH THE BOBBER SET ON 10'...SOME DAYS BETTER THAN OTHER.....8 KEEPERS YESTERDAY...4 THURSDAY, 6 WED, BASS FISHED LAST SUNDAY THE LOWER END OF LOUDON....1 BITE ,1 FISH, AND MY PARTNER CAUGHT IT , A 1#SPOOOOOTT WITHOUT A TOUNGE PATCH...11 KEEPER CRAPPIE, THURSDAY A WEEK AGO , 9 THE SUNDAY BEFORE THAT....

SURPISINGLY , I`VE CAUGHT VERY FEW NON-KEEPER CRAPPIE....OUT OF ABOUT 10 TRIPS I`VE CAUGHT MAYBE 10 THROW BACKS....THE TWRA BIOLOGIST AT THE OCTOBER MEETING TOLD US ( DK, MB, FA, CARL GUFFEY ) THAT MOST CRAPPIE ON TELLICO WOULDN`T GET TO 11" BEFORE THEY DIED OF NATURAL CAUSES....JUST GUESSING I WOULD ESTIMATE THE AVERAGE KEEPER I`VE CAUGHT HAS BEEN A LITTLE OVER 11"..... 1-14" ,SEVERAL 13",QUITE A FEW 12" ,A FEW JUST OVER 10" AND A BUNCH IN THE 11-11 1/2.

Good report, Snuffy. This makes me think that maybe the biologists sometimes blow smoke. Sounds like the Crappie in Tellico aren't any different than those in Chickamauga. Are you catching mostly Black Crappie or are you catching White Crappie?emoGeezer

ALL WHITE DK....I HAD ONE SMALL ONE YESTERDAY THAT AT FIRST GLANCE MADE YOU THINK BLACK BUT ......NOT SURE...

TELLICO JIM SAID HE WAS FISHING UP IN THE TELLICO RIVER SECTION ABOVE VONORE AND WAS CATCHING A LOT OF SMALL ONES BUT WHERE I`M AT MINE ARE AVERAGING ABOUT 11"

I DON`T KNOW HOW TWRA CAME UP WITH THAT ASSESSMENT BUT I DON`T THINK THEY DO A LOT OF SAMPLING ON TELLICO.
