Looks to be about a 14 foot aluminum semi-V on a nice tube trailer.. $100 cash. emoCool

Neighbor of a friend said he had it, and it was on a family member's farm in Chickamauga, so we loaded up in the truck and went to take a look. We get there, and it had been sitting, uncovered, for awhile; was sunk in mud almost to the top of the wheels, and the tongue was completely buried. It was also full of water. After digging out the tongue and hooking it up to a 4 wheeler, we pulled it straight out, aired of the tires with a compressor we brought, and then said a prayer, as they looked to be a tad dry-rotted. We hauled it up a small incline, then tipped it backwards slowly and let it drain (it was holding almost 2 foot of water in it, and wasn't leaking out.. good sign right? emoLaugh )

Hooked it up to the truck and got it hauled home. First on the list is some new tires, then I'm going to strip the paint off the interior (already flaking off anyways).. has brand new lights on it, but I need to wire in a new harness. After that, just need to slap a motor on the back and I'm ready. May also Rhino-line the interior.

All in all, I think it's pretty promising. Aluminum is hard to beat.

Sounds like a heck of a steal! With a little TLC I'm sure it will be a nice boat!!

+1 on the idea for spraying it with a liner. I saw a 16' duck boat sprayed with Line-X and it was sharp! And about as easy to clean as it gets!! Just spray and go!!

I think a good liner on the interior, followed by a new coat of paint on the outside will have her looking good as new! It also has a wood backing piece on the inside of the transom which is rotten.. I know I'll be replacing it, but I'm not sure how yet (in regards to the liner). Once I get it in shape I'll start motor hunting.. maybe I'll even find out who makes this thing once it drains and I can see some info plates of decals. emoLaugh

Sounds good! You might want to replace bearings on trailer axle just in case. emoThumbsup

emoDoh Forgot about those.. yea it probably needs it.

The wheels/tires look to be the same type as you'd find on like a Seadoo trailer (haven't put my Seadoo next to it to see, but I'm pretty sure), so I may just buy brand new ones & bearings and just replace them.

Only spending $100 to acquire it leaves me alot of $$$$ to fix 'er up.

VERY similar. It's 90% empty now.. can't get the rest because it's mostly decayed leaves, algae, water, and sludge. Looks like I'm going to have to get a bucket and get dirty.

Turn it upside down on 2 saw horses and reach under it with a pressure washer wand, you should be able to clean most of it out this way. Also spray it down with a 1 to 4 mixture of muriatic acid and water, this will make the green slim break away, be sure to use goggles and a face shield. Keep looking under the boat for dirty places and spray more of the acid mixture on it, let it soak and use the pressure washer again.

May want to put some larger tires on it if you plan on pulling it far. Small tires turn more and faster making the bearings hotter. You just have to have deeper water to launch.

I'll mostly be fishing around HPSB, Chick Dam, etc.. so I think I'll just stick with the current setup. Good info though.

Where does one acquire muriatic acid? Never worked with it..

Building supply businesses have it, it is used mainly for cleaning bricks or concrete.</p>

I'll look into it then.

The boat is a 14 footer, and around 4 feet wide at the biggest part. I'm currently getting the wheels & tires replaced, as well as the wheel bearings. The new wiring harness went on today, and looks good.
