Just dropped a chunk O' moola and got me a HD video camera for my noodlin/grabblin trips this summer. I hope to have some clips for you guys by June. It also has an underwater kit that I can purchase seperately, but I just looked at the price and OMG are they kidding!!! $700 for the kit alone!! Well looks like I will be using a ZipLoc for my underwater shooting, LOL!!!!

I have played around with the idea of using my underwater camera connected to my camcorder by an S video cord. I am not sure that it will work and it would probably be only black and white but the underwater camera is only $200 or less. Waht might be an option. It may be color but the monitor on my underwater camera is black and white. I'll check it out one of these days and let you know if it works.

CFF'r RoscoeRains made a underwater housing out of PVC pipe. Caulked a lens in one end and put a threaded plug in the other. Fed the power/video lead through a hole drilled in the side and caulked it up to.

It worked perfectly. Used a $39.00 color security camera from Sam's and a 110 volt tv powered by a 12vdc/110vac inverter. He already had everything but the camera so the total cost was in the 40's.

The problem is visibility is limited to 3 or 4 feet in our lakes.

I already noticed a few things that i do not like about this camera. It takes too ling to focus and there is a haze around objects when zooming in on them at a distance. All in all it is pretty good but I really don''t like the focussing issues. Oh yeah I never even put down what cam I got did I. It's the JVC Everio GZ-HD3.
