Now a Cleveland resident...

happy to find this forum, we have been doing some exploring in the area, found our way up to reliance on the hiawassee, caught some trout little browns....and have been up to parksville where greasy creak dumps into it, caught a nice rainbow up there...almost 3lbs, then we made our way up to lake mccamy on top of chilhowee mt....the lake is loaded with bass, but could not get a bite....seen 1 fish over 10lbs easy, and a few 5+ then a bunch of stockers...cant find alot of info about that lake, anyone else fish it?

the best spot by far is right in our neighborhood, we have a private lake and is loaded with perch, bluegill, bass, shellcrackers, catfish etc....catch and release only and the kids have a blast!

picked up a fly rod and a tying kit yesterday, twisted up a few fly's and went down to the lake last night and landed 8 pan fish....pretty fun making your own stuff ,then using it .

anyhow , we are from the Orlando area, fresh and saltwater fishing where our favorite passtime, so far we are pleased with what the area has to offer....cant wait to try some striper fishing on the chic...and the fresh water drum looks like some fun too! hope to learn alot from everyone here....thanks!

Mike

ohhh and Go Noles!

Welcome aboard! Plenty of great tips and such on this site. Jump in...get your feet wet. emoFish emoWelcome

Glad to have you! Striper are great but trust me, drum are nothing more than a nuisance! All they do is crush a lure, get you all ecited and ultimately let you down. Especially in the heat of a tournament. I ruined a brand new Rapala DT crankbait. A drum pushing 30 lbs railed it and by the time I got him to the boat and worked the hooks out they were demolished! The sure set hook in the back was completely straightened out and I lost nearly 20 minutes of fishing time. They are eciting when they hit, but thats about it in my opinion. Good luck on the water around here and we look forward to your posts.

Welcome, fairly recent FL transplant here too, from Titusville. Sounds like you're all over the fish already, cool. Pretty country up there ain't it?

And Go Noles!

spent alot of time on the lagoon and rivers....used to go shrimping alot up in edgewater ,just got tired of the traffic and hustle and bustle of Orlando...needed a change of pace....we love it here!

Welcome! I'm a transplant from Lauderdale been here 13 years. Never wet a line til about 2 years ago though. Lots of good fishing around here to take advantage of.

this area is a nice one for sure. Hope you enjoy the forum and you post some good reports. Come down to the weigh in this weekend for the CFF tournament, you will meet some good people, and some good fish catching fools. Welcome.

Welcome! Another FL transplant myself, Sarasota for me, actually I am typing from there right now. Ive been here over 15 years, love it, I do miss the salt fishing, but the TN river is aesome for all kinds of fish!
