Kayak Garage Storage...

just wondering.. how does everyone store their Kayaks? I just got a 12 ft Fishing yak and am wanting to build a manual lift system with a platform for it to sit on. Though I am having a really hard time finding the smaller parts to complete my project? other than home depot and and the obvious places, where does/did everyone buy parts for your storage systems? thanks in advance!

I use a racor brand garage lift. I got mine at costco, but lowes/home depot sell them online too. 4x4 platform that holds 250 lbs.

Mine is hanging on the wall in the garage. wall mount straps from Dick's for $10 I believe. works great, just requires some awkward lifting if you don't have help. Goes without saying, but make sure you find the studs....

that is a COOL little set up!! did you build it your self? ( not seen anything like this in stores and does it raise up or get taller? just wandering. super cool!

No it's stationary. I made it out of 2x4s and added decking to the bottom level for storage. It's nice being on wheels you can roll it out and push the kayak in the truck.
