Me and Brian went up to Kentucky lake Sunday morning. Upon arriving we immediately put the boat in @ Kentucky Dam Marina. It took us 25 mins to get threw the no wake zone. After finnally getting threw wake zone we head across the river to find the cut threw to Barkley lake. Spent most of the morning fishing on Barkley and found quite a few slicks. Most came out 8'to12'water on pig and jig. The water temp in the morning was 83 and warmed up to 89 that afternoon. We did end up catching 3 keeper's out of the BArkley lake and no keeper out of Kentucky Lake. That was my first time ever on Kentucky or Barkley so I felt good that we did find fish. I'll be returning to Kentucky for some more prefishing on Aug 19th and 20th.
I do want to make all the members of the STNA that are going to the USA BAssin Classic in September to make a trip up prior to the Tournament. This is the roughes lake I ever been on. The major cause of the ruff water is all the barges staging to lock threw, yachts, jet ski and naturally the wind. It was a good trip and I already learned alot about this lake in my first trip.
If anyone has any info they would like to share about Kentucky or Barkley please PM me. I'm open to any help any one's willing to give out. Thanks, Swamp Donkey
