Kids Catfish Rodeo at Camp Jordan 6/16/2007

Took my little sister Katie fishing at the Rodeo on Saturday and she brought along her whole family. Unfortunately I only got a picture of Katie and her sister Morgan! Why you ask .. because I was too busy loading rods with bait and taking fish off their hooks to push camera buttons!!!

We had a great day and in 3 hours each girl caught 2 - 1.5 to 2.1 pound beauties!!! Each child, meaning the girls and their 2 brothers flipped and cast in a kids casting contest and qualified for scholarships later on this year. We had a good time .. but boy was I worn out when we were done. The aquarium and wildlife folks stocked the Camp Jordan pond with over 500 catfish with one of them being over 10 pounds. It's open to whoever wants to fish 24/7. Might be someplace to go get a pole wet with a youngin! We used stink bait ... boy I should have just bought some of the girls leftovers out from our yard!!! That stuff is NAS-TY!!! But it did catch our 4 keepers. Which of course we tossed back!
