Kids fishing 8/15/2006

I fished with this young man and his dad a couple of nights ago. We finally caught some threadfins ad they were up on top early in the evening, went down, and then came back up at dusk. We fished the shad straight up and down over an area where I could see fish just off the bottom back in wolftever creek. When you see fish in a band on or just off the bottom, put a little threadfin on the line and you'll find out what they are down there. This time they were white bass/yellow bass. We didn't catch many in the short time that we had but they were fun.

Man, I love to catch the whites when they are hitting. That is one way to get a kid hooked on fishing...let them catch a bunch of whitesemoThumbsup

Cute kid... has he got a name? And I can just barely make it out, but I'd swear he's wearing a "Scenic City Fishing Charters" t-shirt. emoBigsmile

Good job Polo. He don't seem to mind what kind of fish he is holding.emoLaugh He just wants to have some fun! Good to see that the lil fellers out there are getting to fish and not have to worry about being up all night to do it.

He's GW. I didn't ask his mom and dad if they minded me posting his name, so he's GW for now. They are a great family and I'm hoping to take him next week for some of the big cats out there on the main lake.
