We got on the water later than we wanted but, still before 9am. We went to a channel drop (5 feet to 13 feet) and basically wasted about 45 minutes, catching a handful of crappie. I had my buddies convinced to cast a jig without a float, as that is how I prefer to fish. Well after the alloted time, old friend picks up a float and starts to catch more and bigger crappie than me and new friend combined. We all put floats on and soon had numerous big crappie in the live well. Then the sun came out in force and shut off the float bite. I convinced them to cast to deeper water on some schools I had located. We did and caught several more, just fewer keepers. We then went to our honey hole dock (5 feet deep) and quickly caught about 20 more with over half keepers including a tarp black nose. Old friend had to go be Daddy so New Friend and I stayed for a few more hours we found numerous schools of crappie around 10-13 feet deep, we could catch them casting jigs but the size wasn't there, so after fighting the wind for as long as we could stand we threw in the towel. Ended up catching probably 100 fish with 42 keepers all on 1/32- 1/16oz Bobby Garland and Panfish Assassins mostly blue grass with some on a wide collection of colors (crystal shad, key lime, albino shad, and alewife) Sorry no pics...
