For those of you who watch In Fisherman, This is a stolen idea, but I thought it would be fun to do our own knot test to see which is the strongest, well be doing it at the Meet and Greet this weekend , So bring you best knot and we can also test different kinds of lines against each other "as long as they are the same test LB " to see which one actually is actually stronger,,, Ive just about got the jig together and did some test with it tonight to see how it works "pritty good" its not high tech with load cells and all that fancy stuff but it will pull head to head to see witch line hold best,, We can test the knots with heavy line and light line to see if there is a differance with line size also.. So well see you this weekend.. Puddle... emoDance emoDance

I'd heard the last few years that using a palomar knot with fluorocarbon and braid was a bad idea. I tied them anyway because the knot never failed. "Knot Wars" proved me right.

that may be true but the at the dock the bank robbers knot is the best way to tie up your boat..

I wonder if the blood knot doubled up would have a higher breaking strength than the palomar, I tie the palomar mostly.

Have you considered testing the knot dry and then wet, say after soaking for a minute or so. I'd be interested in how that plays out.

I freaking hate the Palomar knot, I use one that my deep sea fishing grandfather showed me and it's been the best knot I've ever seen.

Hey Craig,
I think ive got a challenger for the palimor knot,, What would be stronger palomer knot on a hook or a snelled hook?? We will see..
