I have fished for over 30 years and although I have caught several really nice largemouth, I have always released them. But, I have always wanted a smallmouth to mount and for obvious reasons, chose the one I caught in December. About the only person I know of is Bud Hull for the job. Does anyone else have any suggestions on someone that does a really nice smallmouth? This will probably my one and only one unless I get one over 8 or something crazy like that.

i used to know of a few but they all retired. everyone gets the fiberglass replicas now. they just seem to last longer and in my opinion they look better. my close friend just had to throw a fish away the other day cause he caught it about a year or two ago and froze it and couldnt find anyone to do it. he went and bought a replica. it was a shame he threw it away, but nothing he would do. good luck finding someone.

I don't know where you live but there is a guy on HWY 64 in Cleveland that just did a smallie for a friend of mine.I didn't see it but he said he did a great job on it.He's on the westbound side of 64 about a mile out past cleveland boat center.

Yes it was a shame he threw that fish away. Could have used it in fish bowling. It's a great new sport. Its a spin off on turkey bowling. They hold the contest at grocery stores. They use the grocery isles as lanes and set up pins on one end and you bowl the frozen fish from the other end of the isle. Points are the same as in standard bowling. One good thing is you don't have to worry about a gutter. Each isle is designated for fish species. The bigger fish aren't always better, since they can become harder to control, but generaly they do a better job. Darn shame he threw that fish away. emoBang emoLaugh emoLaugh

I do recall seeing a sign on a mail box in Rossville for "Bud Hull" taxidermy. Years ago, I recall that as a name that almost everyone threw out there when talking about haveing their fish mounted. I bet its the same person. Might want to look him up in the phone book. He's located off the street that runs by "Walter A. Wood Supply" on Rossville Blvd. Its the same street that goes by Rossville Elem. School. If it is the same guy, he's been doing it for years.

I don't know bout know relationships. I did look it up in the yellow pages and there is a Bud Hull Taxidermy on 1015 Wilson Rd Rossville GA and his phone number is 866-7357. There are six Taxidermists listed in the yellow pages.

Ron Guinn off of 58 Hwy. He has some of the best smallmouth I have ever seen. Excellent artist.
I'm not sure what he charges now but he did a lgmth for me probably 15-20 yrs ago and it still looks like it was caught and mounted last week. I believe his # is 899-1447.

Guess I'm a few days late on this post, but I figured Id answer the price question for you. Ron Guinn is doing a smallmouth for me now and it cost $150.
He definatly does great work.
If you still havent decided I'd give him a call.
