Great article. I have never trout fished here in the south but I have fished for lake trout. It looks from the article that the lake has three species of trout. It sounds like they were using their depth finders and marking trout but not catching anything doing that. If there are lake trout in the lake, the way to fish it is to find deep schools of bait fish with lake trout also being marked and use downriggers if you've got them. I don't see many people with downriggers around here but for suspended fish they can really be effective. Good luck!
