Just saw a post on another board that Lake Lanier's last two public ramps closed this weekend. No water. Anyone heard if there is any truth to this? I sure hope not..

Rock Buster would know but I haven't seen him on in a day or two. I think that is where he fishes most of the time.

Just talked to my father in law in Gainesville, Ga. It's true.

And you should hear what they all have to say about mussels in FL.. Whoooo Boy, It would make a sailor say "Watch your Mouth!"

More FYI:

Just got off the phone with another buddy from Gainesville. Aparently there is a Stiper Club??, that has offered to pay for the concrete for an extension on one of the ramps.

The state cant take a direct donation with an earmark on it, so they are trying to lineup for the Core of Engineers to build the coffer-dam, and then the club will order, and pay directly to the cement company for the delivery. I hope for all those fisherman down there, it goes through. Bait shops and tackle stores are hurting in a bad way during this time as well....

Shoal creek ramp is open on the East side of the lake by the dam and Tidwell is open on the West side. Tidwell closed for a day or 2 and they are deciding on a day-to-day basis on it. With all the rain in the last 24 hours the lake should come up a few inches atleast and both those ramps should stay open for a while. I have been putting in at a closed ramp as my little 16' jetboat weighs very little and I can launch just about anywhere I can get to the water unless it is deep mud.
