I posted a couple months ago that some friends of ours were renting a lake house there and we were invited-all they wanted was for us to supply food and cook!
I was going to take my boat, but decided not to since nobody else fished and they have a deck boat-with a trolling motor.
The house was incredible with lg mouth mounts from 8-12 lbs and all the fishing signs, posters and paraphanalia.
Well, they are "boaters" and had the trolling motor hooked to the cranking battery and didn't want to run that down. So-we went boating!
I guess the heart of this post is that this lake is incredible looking-coves, islands-timber and points galore! No yaghts! All pleasure boats, pontoons and jet skis and jet skis and jet skis!
Over 3 days I bet I saw less than 15 fishing boats! In the morning(until 10) and after 6 in the evening the lake was deserted!
It looked to me like a gold mine that has never been fished much at all-but we were "boating"
It's about 4 hrs from Chatt and probably worth the drive. The house was $250 a night with 2 master bdrooms, huge porch, game room and could sleep a dozen people. Kayaks, floating dry dock for your boat and all the cooking stuff you need-even a Primo grill!
The "boating" was fabulous! Would love to take a fishing trip there!
If anyone has fished there-I'd love to hear about it!

Where is this in Alabama? If so the trick is to wait until football season when all the boaters are rabid roll-tide fans. You'll probably have the place to yourself.

On another note, you need better friends that can "boat" with rods.

To answer your question it's south of I 20 on the east side of Al'-Talladaga area.

To reply to your remark about my friends--- That is EXACTLY what I told my wife!! emoToast

I fished it quite a bit several years back. It's a great spot lake. Lots of road beds, points and standing timber. Some what deep and clear. And lots of spots. Not a typical shallow, flat land Bama lake. Roll tide!
