Laminate countertops

I can recommend that you spend more and get Plywood backed counter-tops rather than the particle board backed.. That is if you plan to remain your home. If you are planning to sell in the near future, Go with the common "Sponge-board"

Not to contradict Liveliner, but I have lived in my house for 16 years and the house is over 25 years old. Have the old particleboard backed CT's and have had no trouble. When I sold cabinetry, the particleboard was mandated to be waterproof by government regulation. We all know how wet particleboard from the old days would get wet and crumble. The big box stores also carry countertops.

Never a Problem Rollcast... I admire diversity .. I also happen to have a Modern counter-top section here for example that is about two inches thick where it was originally 3/4"... Keep it in a dry environment and it will last. Apply a clear sealer under the front of your Sink to seal that raw edge where water may drip and soak into your top.
