Anybody been on Lanier lately chasing those elusive rockets or spots??
Will be fishing tomorrow and monday, looking for any pointers.

For the rockers the back of Wahoo, Little River and Flat creeks are good this time of year. Use the biggest baits you can get. Planer boards and flat lines produce well. Pull you baits as close to the banks as possible.

If you're after really big fish put in up lake (Clark's Bridge at Gainesville) and head up the hooch. Start fishing at Lula Bridge. Unless you throw a net this will probably be a waist of time since the bigger fish prefer large (10" or bigger gizzard shad) caught fresh daily, other wise the first cove on the right after the low water markers above Clark's Bridge usually holds big gizzards.

Sure wish I was going with you.
Good Luck

PS. For the spots, the cove right out in front of the Young Deer boat ramp is probably the best place on the whole lake year around. Put in at the ramp and fish the points a sloughs towards the back of the creek.

Thanks for the info. We'll give it a shot in the morning and monday!!!
I'll post a report when I return.

Just got back from probably one of the most incredible days of fishin I've had especially for bass. We caught probably 25-30 spots and 1 (15lb) rockfish, and on stripe. Most were caught on lucky craft jerkbaits. I have to give credit to lil brother "Jimmystriton" He marked us several spots on the map to fish and every spot we hit but one produced fish. Baitfish everywhere and fish chasing. Water temp started out this morning around 50 and when we left it was 53 in the back of a creek we were fishin. I'll post some pics when I get back home. Jimmystriton and I are going in the morning after the spotted creatures again. Will post more later.
