Got out early with a friend from work and we went to the River Park. Got in the water about 7 and went up stream. Hadn't been there but about 15 min. and laid into a 4-9 smallie. What a RUSH! Got settled down and went to work then. Got another that was 3-11. Got a few more during the day as the sun came out and put a damper on things for us. All together we had about 25 fish. Caught a couple of spots that was almost 3 and a few more smallmouth. We left around 3:30 pm and went on home. Just wish I could have been there Wed. Oh well. Here is a couple of pics. We caught most of the small mouth on grubs and the spots on minnows. Sorry I didn't get to see any of you guys there. I may have but didn't know you if I did. Maybe we can get it together down there sometime...

Very nice. WS6Clint and I were in my red/black 17ft Nitro. Let me know the next time you are going and maybe we can meet up.

We are going to try and catch some fish below the dam tomorrow morning. I was going to see if the majority of your small mouth were caught on the rip rap or what. Smallmouth fishing below the dam is pretty new to me. Thanks for any information. Dusty

We used the 4" Fat Albert grubs and 3" too. Colors was pumpkin, mustard, rootbeer and chartruese. Caught some on a white and blue grub. Used a 1/4 oz bullet head jig, just bouncing it along the bottom. Caught most of the smallies in 14 to 16 ft of water and the spots was everywhere. Most of the spots came on minnows. Partner hooked into one fish that we never did get to see clearly, it was a brown color but a narrow fish. Had spots on its tail and I think it was a Sauger or Saugeye. Not really for sure what it was but it was about 24" long and a really nice fish. It hit a minnow but threw the hook right at boatside. Would loved to have seen that thing up close!

Do you think there is trout below the dam here?

After much debate and trying to figure out what it was that he had on the line here is what we are thinking. I am not for sure that they would have came this far down river but it is possible they could have made it this far. Tell me what you think.

We don't really think it was a Sauger family fish as it had the humps on it and it was a brown color. This is about all that is left that it could be.

Now theres a nice catch! Sweet Smallie! Glad to hear and see you got some time on the water.</p>

I thought about throwing a Fat Albert when we fished the Spot Tx but Al wasnt up for that
