This is a 6' 6" Rainshadow med with a mod action.
The name that is woven in is MOTLEY.
I have no idea where that came from but that is what the lady told me to but on it! The person that it is going to is Dr. Hall.

What do you guys thing about the rod kits??

Do you need a motor for drying? If so go here and get this one. Decent motor for $2.50! Order a couple in case one goes out. http://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-bin/item/ACM-105/400/30_RPM_TIMING_MOTOR,_120_VAC_.html</p>

My opinion on the kits is this.(especailly the cheaper kits) You get a moderate blank with moderate components and in turn you build moderate rod. If that makes any sense. I preferred to spec out my own components.</p>

For a first go around untill I learn a little more about the skills im OK with a moderate quality rod, dont want to mess up a hi-end blank in the learning curve..emoScratch

Mudhole has some no name blanks that start out around $15. I bought some for my kids rods. they are O.K., not all of them where perfectly straight.

In addtion mudhole, janns netcraft has some affordable fiberglass rods. I am not sure of the quality.

If you are just practicing wrapping try some of your old rods or a wooden dowel.
