With the lake so low, is it safe to launch at Chester frost? If not, any better alternatives?

Thanks!

Chester Frost is probably the best ramp to launch at during the winter. It is a little steep, so if it is below freezing carry something to give you some traction.

Be careful going out to the main channel. There is a hump in the pathway, look at a map before you go out. It is in the direct line to the path between the island and the opposite shore line.

I agree with fishinvol HBSP is the best ramp in the winter. with Booker T being the absolute worst ramp on the lake, too shallow too many holes and no parking

Yes it's possible . One side is better than the other. Someone else would have to tell you that info . I'm not sure .

I put in today in the middle at Chester trust and bumped some rocks on the bottom of the boat or motor when backing up with the motor trimmed up high, they have it stupid low. I watched two boats nail the hump in the middle of the park yesterday. So be careful to all

Im pretty sure you if you use the end of the ramp that is on the same side as the fishing pier you will be fine.. the side closest to the river you will fall off of. i usually only use a duck boat trailer this time of year at chester frost so I'm not sure. but i think the side closest to the fishing pier is what you want

thanks. Thinking I'll head to HBSP :)

I've been to Chester in low water, but this is really low ha

so the lake is always this low in the winter??? the low lake levels killed my bank fishing spot. when will they raise it back up? this is my first year in tennessee so i am still learning this dam stuff. fishing on the gulf coast we had tides..... up and down daily

676.5 IS NORMAL FOR CHICKAMAUGA IN THE WINTER 682.5 IN THE SUMMER

LEAVE YOUR MOTOR TRIMMED UP AND TAKE IT TO THE END OF THE DOCK WITH THE TROLLING MOTOR

THE SAME SIDE OF THE RAMP THE COKE MACHINE IS ON IS BEST AT WINTER POOL

YOU STILL HAVE TO BE CAREFUL NOT TO GO ANY FARTHER DOWN THE RAMP THAN YOU HAVE TO

It's the same as tides, only slower. emoPoke

used CFP ramp yesterday with no issues at all. Always heard to use left or right when it's low. I use the left/south/coke machine side. I also back trailer in far enough to wet front of bunk boards
