Im going to hunt LBL this year as much as possible and was wondering if your allowed to go up there and scout. Me and another guy was going to go up there next weekend to snoop around. So after you buy the permit can you scout it

If you go now, Duranon is a MUST! That place has more seed ticks per acre than anyplace on earth. Snake boots are also not optional.

There are some monsters roaming around up there. You won't be disappointed. I will see if I can find my LBL map. I had some really good spots marked it on.

I use "No More Stinking Ticks". Believe it or not that is the name of it. Sold at Bass Pro Shops and it works. Would you think a good old southern red neck boy came up with that?

I wouldnt get out of the truck. A pair of good binoculars watching the bean fields in the evenings should tell you where to start when bow opens up.

went there 2 weeks ago ,saw lots deer .yes you can scout .agriculture was not as plentiful as in years past but there is a lot of clover in there hay feilds .

You can scout it without a permit as long as you are not carrying a weapon. Like others have said, the ticks and chiggers will eat you alive. I use Sawyers and it works good. Just make sure to spray your clothes in time to let them dry before putting them on. Stuff is bad for you in when it is wet. But it is the only thing that I have found that works. Deer hunting is great. I take my son on the juvenile hunt every year. Stay on stand through lunch. The deer seem to always move later in the day there. Good luck.
