Just wondering if anyone is on a lease in ky or ill that might have a spot open for next year?

My nephew just leased 750 acre in Marion, KY (full of deer) Bucks has to score 130 or better to shoot. Lot of crop land. If interested PM me and I'll see if he needs anyone else. I was up there with him last week and I've never seen so many deer. On the way back, I counted 18 dead deer on the interstate. The county that Marion's in is the second highest in numbers of deer in the state.

There is a public hunting Wildlife management area in western KY called the Clarks River National Wildlife Refuge that has about 8,000 acers that you can hunt for free. I have a farm there that is surrounded by the Refuge. Not many people hunt it since the ice storm about 5 years ago. The terrain is mostly river bottoms and hard woods. The deer and Turkey hunting is really good, before I moved here 6 years ago I took 6 big bucks there, my larggest to date is a 155 inch 9 pointer. My brothers son killed a really nice 9 pointer the second day of the rifel season this year. The cost is $160 for out of state NR License and $60 for your NR deer tags the Refuge permit is free. The tags are good for 1 buck and 1 doe, you can also buy extra doe tags for $15 which gets you two more doe tags. In the counties the refuge is in there is a no limited on doe harvest .I go up every year and bow and rifel hunt there and see lots of deers on every hunt. If you do your home work up there you have a really good chance of killing a buck of a life time. I have seen several bucks that will score over 175-180 inches. I grew up there and have hunted there for over 30 years. This is the first year i have not been up there to hunt in 33 years but it has been worth it i got a new hunting buddy on November 15 and he is better than the biggest buck in the woods. PM me if you want more info on the place i can give you a starting point. It is a lot cheaper than a lease and licenses are a lot cheaper than IL.

When I used to hunt KY, by Nov.1st the bucks were in full pre-rut, chasing/ fighting, with peek breeding taking place the second and third weeks of november. That being said I have seen chasing up there in December. Its a great place to hunt and there are always Booners coming out of the counties in West-Central KY. Public land opportunities exist in Peabody and Pennyrile forrest as well.
