Got a call from Fat Albert yesterday to let me know that the rod he was building me was finished. So, today, me and the fam drove out to FA's house to pick it up. Got to meet Al's super patient wife (she'd have to be, right?) and take a look at quite a few trophies on the wall. The room also had a lot of football stuff, too bad it was all some funky orange color and not CrimsonemoLaugh

Anyway, the rod is just awesome. I asked him to use certain colors of thread to match the new reel I got (I know, weird) and it looks great. Great looks aside, the way it feels is even better. Al took it to the post office this morning and it weighed a whopping 4 oz!! For a hobby, this rod does not look like it. It is as well made as any rod I've ever seen.

Also, just to set the record straight. Al always makes fun of the number of rods I carry.............he has quite a few more than he lets on. I didn't bother to count the 2 huge sets of rods he had sitting there.

Take a look at some of the pics, they don't do it justice.

It's a 7 foot MH with a pretty tough backbone. That's about my favorite length and action on all rods, lol.

Yes, there is a guarentee to fish catching.....but ya can't throw it down in the bottom of the boat..Ya gotta use it and put something on the end of the line that catches fish....no junk Cat fishing stuff...and don't throw it in the lake.... BTW, thanks for the kind words. Believe it or not that is the first rod I have ever built...hee,hee....FA

Ok...

Blank/component specs, please. I can see it has a TN style spinning handle and what appear to be Fuji Hardloys. What type of blank? What type action? What type of spinning guide setup (Concept, or New Concept)? What is it's purpose? Jigging? Plastics?

Won't be stepped on, left in the garage, or otherwise mistreated. Man, what a sorry bunch of people, trying to kick me when I'm down and just plain picking on me.

It's a Rainshadow blank, Fuji Concept guides (I think), 7 guides + tip, MH power with a fast tip and strong backbone, TN handle and I believe that's it. Of course it will catch fish, heck, it has my name right on it, so how could it not catch lunkers.

OK Davo, I stopped by Al's house today and he showed me the beginnings of my rod he's working on. All I can say is wow!! man The colors are great together (orange and silver), I can not wait until I can throw a reel on that thing. I will put a guarantee on this rod, I guarantee to catch some sort of trash fish with it ( not purposely of course.) .emoDoh

great looking rod Davo. I wonder if he can do one with digital camo pattern? anyway that is a nice rod, hope you have many days on the water with it.
