I have approximate 90 day supply of subject blood pressure medicine. I changed medication due to Side effect (coughing). If you can prove your doctor has prescribed this medication for you, loved one or a friend it is free for the taking. I would love to see someone get it that not only requires the meds, but needs help. Hate to see perfectly good medicine go to waste, especially when so many struggle or do with out. Not playing doctor here.

It's called an ace cough. Lisinopril is an ace inhibitor. These drugs relax the blood vessels thus reducing blood pressure. I took it for 2 years and developed an ace cough too. Although the cough is annoying the worst side effect is angioedema, a swelling of the mucus membranes, especially in the throat. Angioedema can be fatal if the trachea swells shut. I had one patient that developed angioedema after her first dose. Shortly thereafter I saw a patient that had been taking Lisinopril for years and suddenly developed angioedema. I stopped taking it immediately. Lisinopril does a great job controlling BP. I just couldn't accept the risk.

Well I have been takng Lisinopril for almost 20 years now for BP and not suffered any dry cough but my doctor also precribes a Fluid pill to work in conjunction with it. Now with that said, I do have a cough but mine is not dry but productive and I am keeping the Kleenix tissue company in business as for the first couple hours I am up each morning I fight sinus drainage and have to keep tissues close by. I have some many times wished that the big Pharma companies would work on trying to make drugs that would not just treat a sympton but strive to make a med that will make a person well. I watch all of these TV ads for all these new drugs until I'm sick of seeing them and listening to all the side effects alone e cause me to tell my doctor no if she offered to precribe me one of them...............JMHO

Potassium Danger:

Lisinopril says don't use Morton Lite Salt. Specifically mentions Morton Lite Salt by name.

I used lite salt with Lisinopril and had problems (weakness, lethargy) that prompted me to do some reading.

Problems returned recently when I tried "Move Free" joint supplement. Read the label, Potassium!
