i am having a hard time keeping my fish alive after catching them left the airater running all day and still lost 2 of my 3 and the 3rd one almost died any idea what could be wrong

Agreed, the sprayer bar makes oxygen. If water is just running in, this could be why they are dying. Just my .02.

I do not have a spray bar either, however mine shoots water in pretty hard and seems to make up for not having one. Have you tried some juvi or stay alive? That will also help. Even if you have it pumping you need to bring in fresh water some, does yours have a recycle switch and an open switch. I usually fill mine in the morning, put in "stay alive" and then as long as the water on the surface does not get too hot I open it up every now and then to bring in fresh water. emoScratch In the summer months I let in less fresh due to heat but add bottled frozen water to cool it down.Jmax

You need to recycle all the time and the best stuff to use is stress coat you can buy it at walmart in the aquairium section big bottle is $6 it calms the fish plus rebuilds the slim coat on them and kills any bactiria they may get on them in your livewell you also need to put some bleach in your live well and fill it with water and recycle it for a while then clean it really well

The best way that I've found to decontaminate my live well, is to leave the livewell about half full when leaving the lake. I add a large bottle of hydrogen peroxide and turn the aireator pump on and let it circulate all the way home. It will kill any bacteria and it gets rid of any build-up of foreign matter in the livewell, lines, and pump.

Have you tried cleaning your livewell with plain HOT water and rinsing well?
Sat we were picking up a lot of debris from fishing so shallow in the livewell, so we backed out into cleaner water, drained and refilled it with fresh water and hit the recirculate pumps and did fine.
I don't know if you have recirculate or not, but it wouldn't be too hard to install.

I would clean the well first. Then when your fishing, you fill the well, add your chemicals, then recirculate. Do not pump in new lake water, just recirculate the well. It took me a while to learn that! Later in the day you can pump in some fresh lake water and start all over again. It's about time to get the ice jugs out too! I lost my first fish in over three years last Saturday. Prior to that I always had problems, but I was pumping in fresh lake water!

the boat dont have a recirc ulate pump on it and dont have much room init eather it is an old boat and the livewell is not very bigemoThanks
