I'm kinda particular about who I loan stuff to, always people I trust. One was a walkboard to a guy I know that took a couple extra weeks. But he generously returned it with some of that great bacon he gets from Wisconsin. That's great!
But I loaned a forum member something he needed (before Christmas) and I now need and have sent a couple PM's to with no response! I've had to buy one to the tune of $45 and am disapointed with the lack of response or return from who I viewed as a really good guy.
I guess what I'm getting at- if you're kinda limited on bucks (like me) I wouldn't loan anything out-even to those you trust!

In 1981, a paper salesman gave me a small Uncle Henry pocket knife. The paper work that came with the knife stated it was guaranteed for life against any and all events except loaning it out. Last year, the mechanism that locks the blade in the open position failed. I Googled Uncle Henry's address only to learn they had been sold to another company. Nevertheless, I returned it anyway. About two weeks later, the company that bought them out, sent me a brand new knife - FREE!

The moral of this story: Never loan anything to anyone unless you are willing to part with it forever. Obviously, Uncle Henry knew that.

I could retire (again) if I had the value of all the stuff I've loaned out over the years that never came back, including an $1,100 magnetic drill, $1,000 Greenlee 880 one shot bender and on and on.

Started spray painting big purple stripes on everything so they'd always be reminded where it came from.

Don't let the disappoint in others make you a different person, just a little wiser one emoSun
