I am located in the Chattanooga area. I am looking for a good used bass
boat. Not really looking for any particular brand or year (though no tooo old), just want the boat to
look good and run good.
Looking for at least a 17 1/2 foot.
Want to spend 10,000 or under.

If anyone has anything, please send price, pics, and specs.

thanks!

Richard

Thanks Pointer.

I do check craigslist Chattanooga, craigslist Knoxville, golsn, and this forum and 20 times each a day trying
to be the first one to jump on a deal that is posted.

I thought if I just post here, I might get some replies from people who have not listed yet.

thanks!

Still looking for a nice boat. Had cash in hand and guy backed out of the deal as I was driving to get the boat.

I already P.M. him about it, Was a little more then he wanted to spend. Will try to get some pics this weekend and put it up for sale.

Volsfan. Don't overlook boat dealers. I looked high and lowat private sellers and was very disappointed in the boats- if I could ever get them to cantact me in the first place. Craigslist was the WORST for this!

I got fed up and found a great deal on a 2004 Triton Tr175 at a dealer. You might be surprised what kind of deals a dealer may have. Look at Boat Trader mag, or their website.

Here is a thought. Why not tell the truth?

If you make a deal for a certain amount, thats what you live with.
Dont pay the price and then demand that you have them put a bill of
sale that is half the amount to cheat on taxes when it has to be notorized.

You seem like the one who backed out on the deal

The truth? I basically didn't mention any names and thought that could be left out. The truth is that I was buying a 1994 Stratos thats did need some work for 5200 which seemed to be a fair price for both parties. The seller at time of testing the boat while discussing fixing the problems on the boat and taxes etc... mentioned you only have to pay taxes on the boat not the trailer & motor etc. WE both decided to count 2800 which for a 15 year old boat seemed fair. He actually said we could get away with less (2500). He wanted me to pay him cash money with the boat not in his name it's in his Father-n-laws name which he passed away 3 weeks ago. Legally I could not get the boat registered and they needed some extra paper work and something notorized. That seem to bother the seller that I had to meet the woman that owned the boat and he finally decided to set a meeting at 5:15. We had to hurry because the woman was doing us a favor to meet us at that time. The seller told me at 5:05 the change in taxes and said that could come back on her and I said the taxes we agreed on because you said the boat only. I assumed in thought the mother-n-law never knew I was paying 5200 and maybe he wanted to keep some cash and was upset at me meeting with her and the notorizing.

Also after the seller hung up on me I did call him back twice and sent him a text with no reply we were going to agree with his last minute change not really knowing what was the "right" thing on the taxes. Just figured the courthouse would tell us how to pay the taxes. I have never bought a used boat and honestly was going with our deal and what he had said. Lesson learned and it will work out with a different boat.

you have to pay taxes to the state when you go register it.. most people always put down way less then they actually paid... if they think the value stated is to low you will have to have a notarized letter stating why the amount is that low... you always have to pay taxes to register it

We had agreed and thought 2800 would not raise any red flags. Doubt it would have and the deal would be done and over with now.
