Those of you who have been around CFF a while know I often use you for a writing resource. I'm at it again. I'm looking for a "catfish convert" to talk to. Not anybody who has been chasing the slimy beasties for many years, but someone who has traditionally been a bass, crappie, bluegill angler ... and has only discovered the joys of catfishing in just the last year or two. If that describes you, please send me a PM with a name and telelphone number I can call.

Of course the objective journalist always seeks balance. If you are one of those folks who think catfish anglers are crazy, and just can't understand why anyone would want to catch one on purpose, I'd love to hear from you too.

Richard - count the cornell family as catfish converts - after taking the boys on trips with you several times, and hooking up with one of the board members to wrangle some cats a time or two, we are hooked. After years of saltwater and trout fly fishing, cats are now high on my list. Heck we even stocked the pond last month with 75 - 1-3 lb channels just so the boys can catch them more often.

Richard, I don't know if I would work or not, but you are more than welcome to use me. LOL I mainly fish for bass and crappies, but I do go catfishing about 3-4 times a year. I mainly just do it to get some fillets for the freezer.

Let me know if you are interested. :)

Fishing Machine may be a good candidate if he is okay with it. I understand he has a Bass Tx background and started catching some huge cats the past year or so with several HOF entries!

Richard, I convert back and forth to whatever is biting. My weak point now is crappie fishing. Buy a computer and my too small rainsuit from me and I will be your guinne pig.
