Looking for a longer metal shaft for Motor Guide motor.

Anybody got a Motor Guide metal shaft t-motor that maybe has gone bad? I am going to try and lengthen the motor I have if I can find one.

Spur, is the shaft stainless steel, chrome steel, fiber? If it is stainless steel, you can take a piece off of another stainless steel shaft and get a good tig welder to weld them together, grind/polish off the weld and then extend the wires with butt splices. Be sure to screw the old shaft out of the trolling motor before doing this. Brother Cheeze could probably do the honors by welding this for you.
