Looking for a small used truck with extended cab....(nevermind, bought one)

I am in the market for a small used truck with an extended cab. I have a budget of less then 6 grand so it will have to be one either rebuilt or with some miles. It is for my son to use at college. If anyone knows of a good used truck that fits this bill please let me know. emoAngel Jmax

Jmax, my grandfather is trying to sell a tacoma its a single cab though, i believe its a 98 model 4 cyl. I know your looking for an ext. cab but if all else fails let me know and i'll get you some more info on it. he's asking 5,000 for it.

Those late 90's, early 2000's toyota's are great trucks, wish I had never sold mine.

Yeah i got an 01 ext. cab 4 cyl. 4x4 I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Thanks for the feed back. I was going to look at one this morning. Got there and they were willing to deal. I took it to Hyde's automotives and they checked it out for me. Found a couple little things wrong but nothing major. Took it back, they agreed to fix the couple little things and I just bought it. 2001 Ford Ranger extended cab. Sharp little truck and it runs great. emoThumbsup I got it from Honda of Cleveland that had it come in on a trade. One owner and clean Car Fax. They did me right and I am very satisfied with the way it went. emoToast Jmax

Sounds like you gotta deal, the smaller trucks like rangers and tacomas are hard to find on the lot used because they always get gone quick!

Tell me about it. emoRolleyes I have been looking for a week now. Yesterday I spent most of my day driving around and searching at different lots and dealerships. They actully had four at the Cleveland Honda dealer. Had one Tacoma and three Rangers. All of them looked pretty nice. emoThumbsup The Tacoma was newer and less miles. More then I wanted to pay. One Ranger was also newer and less miles. Two were right there at my budget and looked good. Both are red and I liked the one that was bright red. It had 158,000 miles on it but they appear to be a lot of high way miles. One owner, clean inside and out. Dealt with a young salesman named Wayne Pittman, he took care of me and we struck a deal we both seemed to be happy with.

I had my son last night pull it up on their web site and he looked at it. They had several pictures and discription on their web so he knew what it looked like. After I had it checked out, I called my son and talked it over with him, he was wanting it. emoThumbsup

I hope it lasts him through college at least. emoTongue Jmax
