The guy that works on the boats at marine specialty's name is Jason Morrison he is a good mechanic It's the guy he works for that you can't trust, I'm ashamed to say i bought a boat from him. I've been useing arrow head marine to do my work, They are trustworthy and do excellent work, It's just a good drive up there. I think that Jason Morrison lives in whitwell. He'd be doing my work if it was'nt for Andy Can't Tell The Truth Buck. And by the way marine specialty is no longer a licensed Evinrude dealer and can no longer do warrenty work so Watch out guys Don't let andy fool you.

I'll third Nichols, top notch and they did a GREAT job on my engine boring

Also on the OMC's there is Glenn Campbel AKA the outboard doc i nthe yellow pages he is honest and knows all about the omc's

Yeah I forgot about Glenn, He does good work, He also got smart and left Marine Specialty before Andy ruint his reputation as a good mechanic.

If it is a Direct Fuel Injected engine (FITCH) watch out who you let work on it. Something as simple as changing spark plugs can end up getting you. They have to be indexed towards the injector in the head or it will cause issues. If it is carbed then it isn't that big of a deal. The OMC DFI injection is very touchy. Be careful who you let work on it if it is a FITCH.

Paul and Dale are good.

I don't know about him. I have gotten alot of customers from down there and South Pittsburg from unhappy customers from Mudd Creek. I had one up tonight from bridgeport. Had to replaced a drive shaft and reseal a merc lower. I work mostly on Mercs and Johnsons. My uncle lives on Mt Calvary and has worked on OMC's for about 40 years. He will not touch a Merc. He used to work down at Hales when they were a real Marina. You probably heard of him or dealt with him. Paul Graham. As you are going from Cross roads to Whitwell on MT Calvary when you take the sharp turn before you get to where Jack's stop and go used to be, he is the 2 story with all the boats. Just don't tell him I sent you. We haven't spoken since My Grandmother (his mother) passed away. Hope this helps. What kind of OMC and what are your issues? Something you could fix yourself??

It is a fuel injection..Paul will not touch it. I know Paul well I live at Goosepond Rd right off Mt Calvary.

Then you know Steve as well HUH?? I have six relatives withing 1/8 of a mile staring with Paul and ending with David Burns.
Is it a FITCH? Should say on the cowl if it is. If the spark plugs are off to the side of the head and where the plug would normally go in is a injector then it is a FITCH. I honestly can not think of one OMC EFI engine. All that I know about are the Fitch. They didn't throw fuel injection at everything that moved like merc. They do have a little better response and fuel economy. Just cost a BUTT load when they tear up. What issues are you having with it??

I won't tell if you don't!!!!LOL!!!!

The computer has to be gone into and break in mode activated. Then would send the injectors to Tony Brucatos for injector cleaning. I send the injectors on EFI engines I build to have them cleaned and flow tested to offer warranty the engine. On the DFI they are calibrated to that engine and ecu. If it is a 2002 or older you can buy the software and cable to initate the break in mode. It usually goes for about $70. I have a friend in Griffin that has a GOOD friend who worked for OMC developing those engines. You may not find many who will work on it, like I said they are TOUCHY and are known for failures. Could have a number of things failed and caused it. Here is the web address to the company I use. VERY good people. Hope This helps!!! Later!
