I've seen some incredible deals. Now that the New Year has arrived, my Dad and I were talking on the phone. He lives in Asheville and asked why I had not bought another boat yet. I told him, it's simple... economics. And I've been fortunate that a new buddy here allows me to use his often.
Moving down here, buying a house, selling a house, I'm scared to spend any money!!!! He laughed and said he was retired. "Go find a boat and give me a call when you find one "we" can buy." So the green light has been given. Where are the great deals on a fine fishing machine? Talk to me CFF... I know you guys all know where a great deal is. I'm thinking a decent fishing machine can be had for under $10k... Not looking to finance anything EVER again.

First look for me would be to Nichols Marine. First class folks and sponsor of the CFF.

a bass boat. Not necessarily a fast one. I'm happy with the G3 w/80hp four stroke Yamaha that I've used the past 7mos. But would like a bass boat. Am open to a flat bottom, alum river boat too. It has it's advantages. But really like the traditional bass boat... I've seen a couple of incredible deals slip me by where I could have gotten something in the late '90's models for under $5k or $6k. Dry preferrably

I would also go to some of our local tackle stores the usally have an area for people to post stuff for sale. Last time i was at sportsmans wharehouse the have a really big board with stuff for sale if i rember right. I know alot of the little tackle stores have this. hope this helps some and good luck boat hunting.

Check out Bass Boat Central.Lots of owner information and they have a large section of used boats advertised.

Check craigslist.com for boats, look in all the suronding cities, there is usually a bunch of boats listed.

With a house-load of younguns like you got, there is only one boat out there. Carolina Skiff. You can find a couple year old 19' for under 10K easy....you will NOT regret it!
