Looking for a used motor.

I am looking for a used motor for my Stratos 285. It currently has a FICHT 175 on it and I want rid of it. I like the boat, hate the motor.

I would like to find a Mercury or a Yamaha in the 150 to 225 HP range.

its a shame u dont need the whole package.my stratos has a 200 johnson cross flow on it.(rebuilt with all electronics new on the out side.

I will have a 200 Merc in next week. 94 model I think. Have not put hands on it yet but customer is bringing it Monday. Should be 2-3000 depending on condition.

kirk i have a 2.3 wizzard i'd probley do some trading if you have enough money for boot i think it is a 42 model warranty has just run out a couple of months ago emoPoke

The guy brought it in today and we are checking it out right now. Looks clean and mean. Nose cone and low water pick up. Is on a 20' Norriscraft right now.

Will you run a leak down test on it?

That would probably run horrible with low water pick ups and a nose cone on a stratos ! Just my opinion. I have a 300optimax stroker I will sell

Got the 200 checked today it looks good for the most part. Compression is good on all 6 but 1 cylinder had more leak down than the rest. It has some scuffing at the exhaust port. Should still run good for many years though. $1950 takes it home.</p>

It is a '94 model also.
