I'm looking to get a new fish finder, but I'm not really sure what to get. I currently have a Humminbird 570 on the dash. My limit is $400. I want to use it up front. Should I go w/ the trolling motor transducer or through the hull?

Trolling motor transducer. You want to see what's beneath your feet. Never had one fail even after scraping it on rocks. You can also buy a transducer shield if you're worried about damaging it.

Does anyone know of a great web site to get a great price on Lowrance or Humminbird fish finders?
Thanks

I have a humminbird 718 that was used for 2 or 3 months, it came with the standard dual beam transducer but I bought a quadra beam tranducer for it which gives a wider beam of coverage, The 718 has Gps capability and you may be able to link it to your console unit, I don't have a boat ( and looks like it will be a while before I get one) so I am going to sell. will sell for 250.00. I am getting married tuesday and the extra money would be great, here are links to humminbird website for more details on these.
