I'm tired of squeezing in on the TVA land here and only have a small piece of private land to hunt. Does anyone know of any openings coming up next year? Within a hour or two would be great.

Check out TNdeer.com, they have a lease board and there were some decent ones who hat went quick. I also see a lot of adds on craigs list for leases. Most will pop up in spring or summer.

Here is a question is 51 acres worth leasing out? It is in burchwood TN.

Not to hijack the thread but I'm looking for the same in North Georgia if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it greatly!

And what would a lease go for as far as the money goes? (and how many people would I have hunting on the land) I am not sure what I am going to do with the land yet I thought about just holding on to it. It is close to grasshopper creek.

Depending on quality of the hunting most property goes for $5-$10 per acre in TN. $20/ acre is not uncommon in KY and even higher as you move to the states north of there.

I said somewhere between $2-7. I told it all depended on what the land had to offer. Hardwoods, pasture, crop fields, food sources, population..etc. I never realized it was going as high as $10 in East tn. Till I moved here I always had access to private and Cherokee national forest.

I would imagine 1 person leasing would be plenty. I know if I acquired it, it would be mostly me and then my dad a few days a year. I think it just depends on what the land owner wants or allows.

Thanks for the information.

watts, congrats on getting that piece of land. there is hardly a time i pass through that area to go to the ramp that i don't see deer or turkey or rabbits ........ there is also a lot of very good deer management going on with the properties surrounding yours. most definitely worth leasing . if i wast lucky enough for a good friend with a farm in miegs i would be all over trying to get on that 51 acres
