I have been looking for information on Catfishing Guides for Watts Barr Reservior but have not been able to find any on the web.

Can anyone make any recommendations please

Thanks

Tim

Google Tom Evans and Watts Bar together and you will find a fantastic guide. My dad and I went out with him the thanksgiving before last and we caught quite a few fish over 30 lbs. More importantly I learned quite a bit that is helpful in picking spots where ever I want to catch catfish.

Thanks but I can only come up with a reference to his website that does not seem active at this point

Do you have any contact information for him?

Thanks

Really appreciate all your help. I had heard good things about your forum from a few Indiana sources

Cajin,

I am fairly familiar with Watts Bar, my grandparents live in Kingston. As any of the Tennessee River lakes (I'm most familiar with Wheeler-Wilson-Guntersville) if you can't find a guide, you can't beat focusing on outside channel bends, especially the ledges. A lot of times Minner and I focus on those areas, and usually get bit immediately as we begin to drop.

I have not catfished WB, but I really look forward to reading about your results.

How did you find CFF???

There is a fellow who is in Indianinfo.net(multi-species) board and I had remembered him mentioning a a forum from Chattanooga so I did a search and found you.

It has been inactive for a while. I have a card around here somewhere. He said he was getting to many phone calls from the website and couldn't keep up with it so he went back to word of mouth. I will get the # for you and post it tomorrow when I get off of work.

Tom married my 1st cousin. He's a good fisherman. Very cordial and informative. Tell him that Dickey sent you.

Is that the same Tom that owns Capt. Toms BBQ in Oliver Springs?

He has done alot of photography for the major wildlife magazines and guides out of Caney Creek when he aint makin some good BBQ.

I looked for his phone number, and could not find it, but when my Bro-in-law gets to work this morning I will call him and ask since he works on his boat. You could also try calling Caney Creek Marina. I see his Suburban out there alot.

Spoke with Capt Tom today on the phone and he told me the cat fishing was bad at the moment and would nt get back on track for most likely 4-5 weeks because the water temps had dropped hard and did a number on the shad to provide all the cats with a giant buffet and even the locals were having trouble hooking up on them.

Said I would be best to wait (because I was gonna head down in two weeks) and that all I would be doing is paying him for a boat ride if I came now.

Thats what I call a heck of guy to be straight up front and honest on something like that he would be making money. Just wanted to let everyone know how great a guy he is just from a phone conversation.

You can bet I will plan on going in the future and giving him another to call. emoThumbsup

Man it was a great trip when I went out with him. I would love to go out with him striper fishing as well.
