My wife and I are beginning the search for our dream home...

We are interested in purchasing a lakefront home, with dock, somewhere on the Tn. River system. I am very partial to the Chick and really love the wolftever creek area. I am NOT looking for a million dollar home by any stretch. I know some of the lots alone with dock permits range from 125-200's. Would prefer to find an existing home.

Just looking for some realtors in the area ya'll might have some good experience with or some websites to check out? There have got to be some homes for sale up along the wolftever creek and the Chick but I just can't find them online.

I'm open to all suggestions, other lakes, areas, and opportunities to explore. I feel in love with the Chick the first time I fished there.

Thanks in advance.

Best.

Brett

Good luck! I used to work for a lighting/cabinet gallery. We did a few homes on the Chick. People paid more for the lot than for the house. Waterfront property is getting scarce, especially the closer you get to Chattanooga.

Just bought some lakefront property and unfortunately I can tell you that anything on the chick within 40minutes of Chattanooga is going to.range from 300k-800k depending on the lot for 2 acres or less. There is a new lakefront subdivision being built called bay front estates with a bunch of properties opening up in soddy but the cheapest lot is 300k. That's where I bought our property. 3

Ouch, well... on to other lakes in that case. I love the chick but being near Chattanooga isnt what is important to me. And Im giong out on a limb in guessing that the lake close to knoxville are the same price ranges?

Thanks for the input... like I said, we are beginning our search.

No, there are some very reasonable properties around Sweet Water and up around there. You just cannot find them around the Chick near this end.

we were extremely pleased with the realtor we just used. Now it wasn't a waterfront home but he was awesome to work with. Ellis Gardner is his name 413 5037 is his #

If you're not needing to be close to Chattanooga you might check into lakefront property in Spring City or Dayton Tn on Watts Bar. Probably much cheaper there.

I own three lots on Guntersville. None are water front, but all are waterview. One has a ramp in the subdivision. The other two are larger (3 acres each) in the mountain with mountain and waterview. If you're interested, shoot me an email at [email protected]. Reference CFF and I'll know it is not spam. Good luck.
