7'-10" Quantum KVD MedHvy Cranking Stik with a Black Quantum KVD 5.1:1 Reel with flipping switch and it was all rigged with a Chartreuse Sexy Shad DD22
You can PM me or call me 423-593-7322 Story Below if interested. Thanks for your Help.

I had a little trouble Saturday right in front of the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant while running back to Chester Frost from up river. I was running on the plant side of the channel when all of a sudden HELLO CABIN CRUISER WAKE emoBang, Went a little air born well a lot air born emoDoh my rod locker flew open strap came undone and low and behold dumped I believe 7 rods in the lakeemoBawl. Thinking kindoff quickly after noticing the deck of my boat looked bare compared to just 30 seconds ago I saved a waypoint on my electronics so that I could come back later to find them. We were fishing the Walmart/Coca Cola tourney and were trying to make it back for the weigh-in in hopes to recoup some of my recent loses and that didn't work out either. After the weigh in we headed back to the spot I had Marked and followed my tracks that I thankfully keep on my units and started fishing, 15 minutes later I had a double on a Chrome and Black XR75 I immediately dropped a bouy and contiued fishing 10 or 15 minutes later another double 3 to go then my buddy caught the next 2 thankfully! I told him he needed to pick up the pace because he was getting skunked and it worked and that leads us to the one I am still missing if anyone finds it I would love to have it back so please pass the word. It was practically a brand new combo I put together it was a 7'-10" Quantum KVD MedHvy Cranking Stik with a Black Quantum KVD 5.1:1 Reel with flipping switch and it was all rigged with a Chartreuse Sexy Shad DD22 tied on it. Oh and it Floats I am almost positive didn't know this originally or may have found it first you live and learn. Thanks in advance could even work out a reward for someone who finds it and returns it.

That sucks. I had a fish pull one of mine in the lake last night. It was in really deep water so I will not be getting mine back. It was great you got back what you did.

Wow! You did darn good to recover 6 out of 7. Very quick thinking and wise recovery on your part. Good thing you weren't in the main channel.

Reminds me of sinking a duck boat one time. Readers Digest version... we flipped and hit the water. Thankfully one decoy unrolled and anchored right where we went over. Water was about chin deep, and did I mention it was 20 degrees. I swam for shore and headed to get our truck which wasn't too far away. When I got back my buddies had waded up to their chins around the decoy in circles and managed to recover all three of our guns.

Sorry... didn't mean to hijack your thread.

I hope somebody comes up with #7 rod.

Thanks. If the Boat hadn't nosed up we would have sunk it with the rods and every thing else. Just goes to show no matter how long you have owned a boat you can be a little over confident in your or your boats abilities in rough water. I do believe the boat did its job it was the errant driver who did not. I am thankful to have recovered what I did as rods go but my ego drowned Saturday. Someone was definitely looking out for us or it could of been a lot worse. I bet the guys cat fishing had a good story for the family and buddies when they got how because we had an audience for the boat acrobatics. emoSmile

You need to have fishinvol as your partner. That way there would be too much weight in the boat for it to get airborne nomatter how big the wake!

I can relate. I kicked a brand new rod/reel combo over the side on the very first outing on my "new" boat. I know exactly where it is but can't get it, water's about 45 feet deep now. I rigged up a "recovery tool", old metal fish stringer and put a piece of rebar at the top to get it down and spent 2 hrs dragging the bottom where I lost the reel. No luck.

That is awsome you were able to recover 6. I had one jump off the boat in WT in 30'. Stopped immediatley and tried and tried to recover. It was Curada I just picked back up for the reel doc from cleaning and replacing a bearing on a Joe Burns rod. I was heart broke.

RECOVERED!!!!!! Rod & Reel, Chick, Sequoyah Nuclear

Thanks to a guy named Chris who saw the thread here on the forum and an honested guy he works with Jesse Johnson the who found the Rod and Reel, I officially have recovered all of the lost rods and reels unless I counted incorrectly again because this one was actually #8!!!! He found it down just around Pinkies Point I would guess a mile from where I lost it. Completely unbelievable.

Thanks Again Jesse, Chris and lets not forget the CFF.

RECOVERED!!!!!! Rod & Reel, Chick, Sequoyah Nuclear

I had rather be lucky than good any day. I wouldn't call it luck though. I would say we had someone looking over us especially not being injured or even sinking and with every rod hauled in by dragging the bottom to the safe return of the final rod it was all just a reminder of a greater power above.

RECOVERED!!!!! Rod & Reel, Chick, Sequoyah Nuclear

No Joke. I would have never thought I would see any of them again much less all of them and especially the last one. I figured it was gone forever and in pieces.
