Louie B, Carters Lake, Big Spots/ sonar pics + major discounted trip this wknd, first week in July,
Water Temp: 85-86
Clarity: 4ft
Level: -4ft low
Fishing has remained consistent through this hot weather. Fish continue to be 20-35ft for now with some fish still hovering from 12-18ft especially early mornings. I've actually been seeing more schooling throughout the days than I usually see at Carters. We've caught a good many fish on Strike King Sexy Dawg Jr this week, most are small but on Friday while out on a sonar trip in a clients boat, I had a couple of big Spots rolling all over the Jr and finally hooked one of em around 11am. It's the first fish pictured, pushing 5lbs.
Outside of the random schoolers, nothing new to report. Drop Shots and Spotstickers, with an occasional football jig bite, just fish real slow and you'll get bit. The storm left a stain in the water which made the bite a bit different Fri and Saturday, today seemed back to normal for me.
After my trip Friday I took off to Bill's and we fished the Friday night tourny out of Galt's on Lake Allatoona. We ended up winning w/ just over 10lbs and caught all our fish on Spotsticker Pro Series jig heads rigged with Shaking Squirrels fishing 20-35fow. We were unable to cull after 10:30pm missing a couple of opportunities. Bill has been on em, this was his 5th win in 6 weeks fishing friday or Saturday night tourny's on Allatoona. This was just my 2nd night tournament of the Summer and had a blast.
I have a rare weekend date open this Saturday (14th). I'm offering a great discounted 5hr trip Saturday morning (7a-12p) for CFF and GON members. This trip will be a Sonar/Side Imaging or Structure Scan trip along with sight fishing with sonar for big Spots. I receive a ton of PM's about learning Side Imaging and have taken a ton of CFF & GON Members on sonar trips over the years so if you're struggling understanding SI or Structure Scan this is a great trip. I'll go over set up for both SI and DI, as well as how to efficiently locate cover/structure, identify fish, and how to use SI and sonar to efficiently fish the cover when you locate it. This trip is based on 4-5 person rate and is discounted to $85 per person. The first 4-5 people who PM me will be aboard. My normal trip rate is $300 for one or two people, and $200 for me to set up in your boat so this is a great savings and a chance to come catch a big Spot as well. Thanks guys, look forward to meeting a few more of you.
Good luck out there.
