Quick report. Out today w/ regular clients Rick Graham and Scott Patton. We fished from 6:30am-1:30pm. We caught 25+ fish on the new Pro Series Football Head from Spotsticker and a couple on drop shots and crankbaits. The bite was OK early, seemed like it really turned on from 12p-1:30p as over half our fish bit in the mid-day.
It's rare to catch as many quality fish on jig heads for me in the same day. I've used this head for a few weeks now and in my opinion it's the best head for deep water I've used thus far. I can use this head in area's a traditional ball head jig would stay snagged. Today we used the 3/16oz Pro Series Football head in green pumpkin rigged with Green Pumpkin trick worms and Big Bite Shaking Squirrel worms in Bold Gill Chart for our catch today. Rick and Scott were pushing 17lbs with their catch, add in my fish and our best 5 were well over 20lbs for the day. I wish I'd taken a picture at how well these fish were hooked, we had a couple of 4lbrs that were almost hooked to good LOL. The hook came out just in front of their eye
I also fished Chickamauga for the first time this year. I came up to do a sonar trip with a CFF member on Memorial Day. We tweaked his Humminbird 1198 and 998 for an hour or two and took some time playing with his sonar and caught some nice drop shot fish sight fishing w/ the 998 too. Only stayed till around 9:30 and fished maybe an hour of our trip. Thanks again Eric for the trip, hope to see you at Carters for a real trip in the near future!!! Here's a pic of our best fish.
Thanks again guys for yet another trip, I always enjoy the day on the water with you both!
I still have a day or two open next week if interested. Also, I just had a cancellation for this Saturday if anyone's interested in bringing their kids down for some mean Spotted Bass action drop me a line.
