Another great week on the water with a lot of big Carters Lake Spotted Bass. I was fortunate to fish w/ a couple of my regulars this week as well as a few new faces that I'm sure will be back.
Fish are scattered from shallow to 60+ft across the lake and river. Water temps are ranging from 50-53 across the lake and the water clarity is looking good not great, 3-5ft viz.
I've had a few emails about the Float N Fly bite the past week so here's a detailed report for the fnf. The bite is tough but if you fish the right areas w/ the right leaders and colors you can get bit. Red Rooster Carters Special and 7up have both produced well for me this week fished on steep shoreline w/ 12-15ft leaders. A lot of these fish are biting on the fly while we're walking it, which is common when fishing long leaders, so you do not have to fish super slow right now. On Monday Rick, Scott and I boated two big Spots within a few minutes of each other fishing the 15ft leader over a deep point in the river, both fish bit while walking the fly. On Saturday, Robbie and JJ drove all the way from Columbia, KY for a Float N Fly trip. We worked hard to boat a dozen Spots all day, fishing till 5pm. Both the guys boated 4lb fish along with a handful other quality fish. The best bite Saturday was with 12ft leaders and Red Rooster Carters Special Fly's.</p>

I want to let everyone know I'll be in a booth next weekend at the Trade Center in Dalton for the NWGA Hunting and Fishing Expo. Adam Broughton former Product Manager/Enginer with Humminbird and Co-founder of www.biggeorgiaspots.com will be there in the booth as well, so anyone with questions about their electronics should stop by, one of us should be able to help. I'll also be offering discounted gift certificates for both Spotted Bass and Striper trips that can be used anytime in 2012.
