Well, I took the plunge and got the big screen for the boat. Some disappointment but the good far outweighs those. First off, I bought the unit from a well-known local shop and had them move my 26 CHD to the bow. All seemed well. Then the first day I took the boat out fishing after the installation, I found that the sound did not work on the 113. Really not a big deal since all else was fully functional. But you know how it is when you buy something new - you want all aspects to work. Tried for 4 weeks to work with the dealer for a replacement and came up empty. During this time, I called Lowrance and was told they had a 2 week backup for repairs and that my unit might be out of my hands for 3-4 weeks. Not acceptable to me for a brand new unit-regardless of the cost. I continued to try to work with the dealer to no avail. Then in a last ditch effort, I called Lowrance again and Amy Cook right away told me she could ship out a head unit, by charging my credit card a deposit (actually more than I paid for the unit originally). Then, once I sent the defective unit back, Lowrance would take the charge off of my card. So far, so good.

The unit arrived today and tomorrow the defective piece gets sent back. Lowrance is even paying shipping both ways. So in the end (assuming I get a credit, Lowrance came through in a big way).

I am not going to name the dealer, but I am amazed they did not know this process in the first place which would have saved all involved some time and effort.

By-the-way the good continues as I really like the big screen for my aging eyes.
