I love my 797 with the side imaging, but the dual transducer also. The 787 does have a dual transducer for a more accurate and wider view under the boat. I will never buy another graph without it. You can use them seperately or together. It seems to seperate fish from other fish or structure better.
I can't afford the side imaging, I really like the 787, but Haven't been around one to see what the fish, structure and baitfish look like on one. On the Lowrance I can differentiate pretty easily.
I have had both. Without a doubt the humminbird is far and away better. The two aren't even close. I am heading home from C and O now to put the new Ally into the water. I have a 787 on the front if you want to meet me at the riverpark to try it out. I should be there by 2-2:30.
Chris you won't beat a deal like that. Getting to ride in the maiden voyage of a top notch bass boat AND get to see the 787 in action. Could be that you will be ruined for lifemoBigsmile
