Bought a Lowrance 522 color unit with GPS on sale 3 weeks ago. It has internal gps, and i bought the Navionics premiun east sd card with it also. I have put sonars on before, but because this one was a little more expensive i decided to pay an expert to mount it for me. Called Adam Cogswell (The Boat Doc @ 423-394-0761) and he came to my work and installed it in a couple of hours. He is a great guy, and did a very professional job. I highly reccomend him. Anyway this thing is fantastic. Sonar is very bright and can be seen easily in the daylight. Gives really good response. You can even see your line in the water if it's thick, achor lines etc.. The gps is super cool, and seems to be very accurate. It has some stuff that i'll probably never use, but you get that i guess with a unit of this caliber. I paid $650 for the unit new, and although that is high i guess, i believe you get what you pay for (in most cases anyhow).

There is a software upgrade out for this unit. You can download it from Lowrance web site. I loaded the upgrade in a friends unit last week.

The 522CIGPS is a nice unit. I'm GPS poor, I currently own 5 Lowrance units!

I was getting a 522, but found out that they were on back order for a month at Lowrance. So i decided to buy 2 sonar units and save about $200. Hope I didn't make a mistake!
