Lowrance HDS help

Is anyone going to be on the water around Harrison bay tomorrow that knows about lowrance that can take a second and look at my graph and why it doesn't read when on structure? If so please PM me or shoot me a text 423-827-4236 thanks!

Does the LSS unit have power?? I have had issues with the structure scan not working and found a loose power connection on the LSS-1 unit. If all of the other screens display this is probably the issue if you have a LSS unit. Gen 1 and 2 have to have the separate Lowrance Structure Scan unit, the Gen 3's have them built in (at least the one I looked at recently did).

The lights come on on the structure box and everything appears on the graph but when you pick either side or down it comes up but doesn't read anything at all..the sonar works.

Check the Ethernet cord it could be bad. Mine was and caused that to happen

Sounds like no power to box if you have a gen 1 or 2. That's exactly what mine did before I upgraded to gen 3. I had a separate switch I had to turn on for structure scan

Does the structure scan window have "no source found" or something similar? I have had similar issues with a loose Ethernet connection, the LSS-1 has power, but the cable was loose. After reconnecting the cable it will work. My loose connection is on the LSS-1, apparently we snag the cable and move it a little with our feet (it is under the passenger console).

The sonar uses a different transducer source than the side scan. That is why the sonar works, but not the side scan. Not sure about the downscan, it may use the sidescan transducer as well.

I know that you said the LSS-1 has the lights on it, so the switch should not be the issue. We have a separate power switch for the LSS-1, so I have to remember to turn that on or I have the same issue with no source.

1 other thing to check is make sure your source is checked correctly. If your using a box, such as LSS1 or 2, make sure struture page is highlighted in orange. on the menu key srcoll down to source. Your options should be this unit, Lss1 or 2 and bow unit if you have one connected via ethernet. Hollar at me if you have any problems. If your using a touch unit and no external box your source should be this unit. Hope this help,,,</p>

maybe Zoom out? if the side/ down scan is not reading you will get a "no source" message on the screen if the screen is active, I d say you are zoomed in or out too far or your transducer is sitting at an odd angle.

What is your sidescan distance set to. If you set it too short for the depth of water you wont see anything

Never had any issues with my structure scan but a soft reset/reboot has solved several head-scratching issues. it's safe and easy. scroll down to your unit, if you're interested
