OK everybody.
Imagine that you have just won a drawing at a Tournament.
You can choose between a Lowrance LCX-113C HD or a Humminbird 997c SI Combo NVB.
Which one would you pick?
Why?
Lowrance versus Humminbird.
My wife does not know this yet, but this is going to be my only Christmas request.
I would appreciate any input.
Thanks for your time.

I have the "little" Humminbird and wouldn't give it up for anything. Be careful, you may need a "high speed" transducer in addition to the one with the unit. I use my in-dash Lowrance 135 for continuous high speed use, but the dual down looking transducer and the side imaging can't be beat. My side imager shows so much structure down in the water. I am slowly trying to find productive areas with it, but it will take sometime. I do feel the Lowrance is tougher than a Humminbird.

I would go with the Hummingbird, but only because of the side imaging. I would really rather have a Lowrance if both had the SI.

The Humminbird is the better unit hands down and the side imaging is cream cheese icing on the cake. Humminbird all the way. Still the only depthfinder made in the USA if that means anything to you. Humminbird still has English speaking folks to help you and answer questions. Lowrance sometimes does sometimes you speak to Jibjab Achmad Shaka ZEEnid

Humminbird ! Humminbird !

I have the 797 and the 997 is probably twice the unit it is...
