I just picked one up and trying to understand all the connections and cables. At the moment i am just doing the basic install, i think i have it worked out but want some assurance so i don't screw it up. I bought it used and i don't think i have everything, i think i am missing a extension cable with 1 red end and 1 blue end. I am running the gps puck off of the network socket to the T, then i don't have the extension to go to my puck. Also it says i need a terminator and a 120 ohm terminatior, will the gps still work without those? Where is the best place to buy these pieces? also i have a lowrance 510c up front. I want to connect the two, do i buy a ethernet cord and connect the two or do you have to buy the big port thing? THanks for your help this is all new to me.

I think you need a NMEA 2000 starter kit. That should give you what you need to link the two units. NMEA Starter Kit Part # 124-69 $49.95
Network starter kit. Includes 2 terminating resistors (TR-120M-RD, TR-120F-RD), two T-connectors (N2K-T-RD), one 2 ft extension cable (N2KEXT-2RD), and one 15 ft extension cable (N2KEXT-15RD), and a power node (N2K-PWR-RD). For use with all Red network devices.

I can't get this gps to work. Without the extension cable with the red end and blue end. Went everywhere today and could not find one.

Can you wire your nmea 2000 network together on the same switch as the unit power or do they have to be run separate with 2 switches?

Yes they need 2 power sorces to be correct. There is a troubleshooting page on lowrances web site so you can check the puck. Its simple witha volt meter to be sure its working. The puck can hook rite up to the until to check it. 2 power sources and 2 3 amp fuses just as instructed by Lowrance or trouble will be around the corner. Been there done that. Get the kit, do it rite.

I have the 3 amp fuse on each lead of the unit power and the network cable. But was wander if it will be okay to run them off the same switch instead of 2. I am stil waiting on an extension cable to be able to use my puck.

Id just wait on the GPS and use the sonar until it arrives. You'll just have to redo but it will work but there is interference there I think..
