Guys,,,
if you could answer a question for me,,, I'm rigging my new monster catfishing machine "pics of it to follow",,and im networking A lowrance HDS-8 on the console to a HDS-7 on the front of the boat,,, I will be hooking the both up to Structure Scan, and the front 7 up to a terrova with universal sonar,,,

OK, I want to be able to run both units all the time but wondering if when I have the trolling motor in the water will the signal from the 7's interfere with the Structure Scan and the other signal from the 8's transducer??? If it will what is the way around this short of unplugging the extra transducer...

Thanks for the help...
PJ

This and one other networking example I could find on the Lowrance site does not have the other transducer...

You will have a total of 3 transducers, one for trolling motor (you can use the universal in the trolling motor), one for inside the hull in the rear, and the structure scan LSS-1 transducer. You can link the units via ethernet and/or NMEA 2000. If you don't care about adding any add on sensors for fuel or temp or even an external GPS antenna then I would use the Ethernet. You'll need one ethernet cable from the front to the LSS-1 and one from the console to the LSS-1. You will be able to share wayponits between both units this way regardless of which unit you save the waypoint on. The transducers should not interfere with each other if you set them up in the installation menu properly.

When you set them up in the menu, select source as this unit for each one and you should't have any issues.

I have basically the same setup. I am networked with a LGC-4000, plus ethernet. The ethernet allows the HDS 7 at the front to display the structure scan in conjunction with 2D sonar. You may notice some interference on the HDS 7 (faint vertical lines) coming from the HDS 8 2D transducer. To eliminate this or make it barely noticeable make sure the ping speed on the front is less than the front ping speed.
