BEEN SEEING YALL TALK ABOUT LUMP CHARCOL BEING BETTER THAN THE BRICKETTS I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW MORE AND WHERE TO FIND THEM I SMOKE A TURKEY A COUPLE OF TIMES A YEAR AND ALWAYS LOOKING FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT THANKS

I saw the title and thought you were looking for Christmas gifts for some mean kids.

I am sort of interested in hearing more about this lump charcoal too.

Primo lump charcoal can be bought at Southern Hearth & Patio on Lee Hwy north of Hwy 153 just past Mckay book store. Much better than brickets...burns down quicker and last longer and provides a great flavor without the lighter fluid taste. Talk to Jonathan or Clay. Al

Josh, your welcome...my company does your windows and I am your #1 customer for lump charcoal. I used the Cowboy charcoal for a long time, but the Primo is great too. I'll look you up next time I'm in there. Al

Lump charcoal burns much hotter and lasts longer than briquettes. Lump is all natural hardwood that has been carbonized. Briquettes are full of fillers and binders and lots of carcinogens. Add lighter fluid to the mix and you have some stuff that is fairly toxic.
I used the Primo lump when I first bought my grill. It is first class lump but is WAY overpriced. Primo lump is made by Royal Oak and marketed in the Primo bag. Wal-Mart and many Ace Hardware stores carry Royal Oak. It is $5.47 for 10 pounds which is $10.94 for the same amount as the $20 bag of the exact same lump as Primo. I got my info straight from the Primo forum. Used both and they are identical.
There are literally dozens of brands of lump charcoal. Some are better than others. Some have a lot of foreign material like rocks and plywood and plastic and worse.

This is a site that has lots of real good information about lump charcoal. They do not have a review about Primo lump but do have one for Royal Oak.
