well i wasnt supposed to go fishing today but the movie the wife wants to go see doesnt open until tomorrow so we swapped fishing/movie days emoTongue

called riverrat to see if he was up for another day of crappie hunting and met at grasshopper around 8am.

i will say that riding 3 people in my new boat isnt near as comfortable as my old bullet but its a whole lot easier for 3 people to fish out of .

started off looking in the same places where we have found LOTS of fish earlier in the week with only slightly better results. bluff and off shore structure in sale and possum creek and a couple of
main lake docks.
i did pick up a pretty nice 17" long trashy green fish on a bluff in sale creek that i had hoped was a monster crappie as it put up a very serious fight on light tackle emoBigsmile

we also tried some new to us stuff closer to the nuke but fared about the same down there.

we would pick off a fish or 2 on each spot changing colors and types of bait often . smoke/silver pan assasins with red or char. tail lights . BG shad in various colors like bayou bugger, baby craw, blue thunder, monkey milk and others . finally went back up to sale creek where we had 3 nice schools located for the past week and they were GONE. it didnt look like the was a single fish
left on that entire bluff wall emoScratch

decided to do some scouting and came across a couple of schools that were actually HUNGRY emoDance they were on laydowns close to the creek channel were the water finally got above 50f.
it was fast and furious for about an hour (3pm- 4pm ) were we put well over 60 fish in the boat emoDance lots of 3 in a rows and every other cast. lots of missed hits too.
the down side they were mostly 9-1/2" fish but we did manage 6 keepers for the day.

i lipped so many crappie that my thumb looked like i had been bass fishing emoBigsmile

then the light switched got flipped and they were done emoTongue but it was time to go home anyway. color of choice for the frenzy was a BG hologram ghost with a chart. tail light .
we tried a few other colors during the melee but that seemed to be all they wanted on a 1/32 jig .

even though we didnt get many keepers it felt REAL GOOD to finally find a bunch of hungry fish. emoAngler

it was also good to see H-1 out there today . shoot me a pm brother and i will help you all i can to get that 'bird set up

emoThumbsup Thank you for the report. Lots of fish caught today between 3 and 4 pm. Must have been the magic moment. It is fun catching those little crappie too. Too bad that the bigger fish weren't running with these guys. We found the bigger fish today staging on the mouths of coves. emoBigsmile emoGeezer
