chuck and i have been trying for a long time to get together and fish parksville and when he found out i had the side imager he really wanted to go and see what he had been fishing for so many years.
on the one side it was a successful trip in that he was amazed at all that he could see with the humminbird and how the fish were relating to structure in ways that he never thought of. we even found a few things
he had been looking for on his traditional sonar and never found.

the fish catching part though not so good .we did clear out quite a bit of brush at the dam though emoBang look another stiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiik fish emoBang emoBang .

we started off on the flats on the north end with several short spats on medium diving CB but there was so much debris in the water from last nights storm (small branches with lots of green leaves) that is was to big of a pain for a bunch of short fish.

went to the dam and tried a little bit of everything there with only a few small spaaats and a lot of stiiiiiiks to show for it. i did get some good images of the dam though.

since the bass were being stubborn we went to the marina only to find the crappie being just as stubborn BUT managed a couple of 1lb spots on BG shads with a 1/16 jig close to the bottom (40ft)

tried a few other coves, points and bluffs where we marked LOTS of fish and had a few bites that resulted in only half a worm being brought back to the boat.

put it around 8am and pulled out about 2pm. water temp ranged from 75f early to 77f when we took out

still it was a great day of fellowship with a friend with who it had been way to long since we shared a boat.

Thats cool, next time you go up there you should try this on the long and narrow points if you didnt today, and I do mean points that come out pretty shallow for a good ways that drop off really fast on both narrow sides... you'll find a few fish this way, but I dont know about the big ones. The only way I can find structure on the points is by feeling my bait come over them of course! And that structure always holds a few spots for me.Also fishing bluff walls like you did, andmaybe try a little topwater in the coves too. You just gotta keep trying things until you find out what they are biting that day. But really yall did pretty good today considering how tough its been this year on Parksville. Thanks for the report

i thought i had renamed those images so folks would have an idea of what they were.
the first 2 are of the parksville dam and the third is a large sunken tree with lots of fish around it (none of them hungry for what we were throwing)
